功能
CDP-ME由MEP胞苷酰转移酶(IspD/CMS)催化甲基赤藓醇4-磷酸(MEP)与CTP缩合生成,同时释放焦磷酸。该反应将赤藓醇骨架活化为核苷酸衍生物,便于后续的磷酸化与环化修饰。CDP-ME进一步被CDP-ME激酶磷酸化为2-磷酸-4-(胞苷5'-二磷酸)-2-C-甲基-D-赤藓醇(CDP-ME2P)。
调控
IspD酶活性受产物CDP-ME的反馈抑制。在植物质体中,CTP的供应量是该反应的限速因素之一。该步骤连接了甲基赤藓醇4-磷酸(MEP)的还原异构产物与下游的磷酸化-环化序列,为MEP途径中的节点反应。
